N2 - This paper proposes a pattern reconfigurable wearable antenna based on a composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH TL). By turning switches on or off, the antenna can resonate both at the zeroth-order mode and the +1 mode, yielding a monopole and a patch like radiation pattern, respectively. Both operating modes cover the 2.4 GHz industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band. The antenna is fabricated with textile material. It is robust under deformations and shows a low specific absorption rate (SAR).
