The superior multiferroic properties of Bi0.85Nd 0.15Fe0.98Mn0.02O3/CoFe 2O4 heterostructure thin film at room temperature

摘要

Bi0.85Nd0.15Fe0.98Mn0.02O 3/CoFe2O4 (BNFMO/CFO) heterostructure was synthesized on FTO substrates by the chemical solution deposition method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Raman spectra confirm the existence of structure transformation or distortion in BNFMO layer. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) shows that the BNFMO and CFO phases have retained the perfect heterostructure. Furthermore, the BNFMO/CFO heterostructure exhibits both good ferroelectric and ferromagnetic properties at room temperature. The remanent polarization (P r) and the coercive field (Ec) are ∼117 μC/cm 2 and ∼410 kV/cm, while the remanent magnetization (M r) and the coercive magnetic field (Hc) are ∼60 emu/cm3 and ∼1050 Oe. It is also found the significant role of the CFO layer for the ferromagnetic behavior can be observed in the BNFMO/CFO heterostructure.
