The Protection of Solid in Liquid-solid Impact by Microstructure

摘要

Impact of the droplet with high speed brings very high stress to the surface and some internal section of the base solid material. This paper compares the stress distribution of the entity base solid and that with zigzag microstructure under the impact from spherical water drops. The entity base solid has two sections with highest stress: the contact edge and the axis. The zigzag microstructure with appropriate sizes can protect the base solid due to its contribution to decline of the stress in the sections with stress concentration. Relating to theory and practical application, this work may be helpful to prevent the erosion of droplets to the base solid.
