The expression of laminin and laminin receptor in human villi and hydatidifore mole

Objective: To investigate the relationship between laminin (LN), laminin receptor (LN-R) and the onset mechanism of hydatidiform mole. Methods: Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of LN, LN-R in human villi and hydatidiform mole. Results: LN was stained in continued-lining shape both at the site of basal membrane cellular membrane and surrounded by positive staining which was thicker on the side of normal villi and hydatidiform mole. The staining corresponded negatively to gestational weeks. The expression of LN-R in both basal membrane of normal villi and hydatidiform mole was sited on the surface epithelial membrane. Conclusion: Lamine and its receptor might play an important role in the occurrence of hydatidiform mole.
