The effect observation of head injury treated with cerebrolysin

Objectives: To observe the effect of early treatment of head injury with cerebrolysin. Methods: 120 cases by operation and 80 cases of conservative treatment were divided into two groups randomly - observation group (68 operation cases, conservative 43 cases), cerebrolysin was given for therapy and control group (52 operation cases, conservative 37 cases), cerebrolysin wasn't given. Results: The consciousness, Glass coma scale (GCS) score and symptoms in observation group were significantly improved compared with control group. Conclusions: Cerebrolysin is a safe, good medicine to improve nervous system function and metabolism of brain; it can enhance the endurance of neurons when short of oxygen and it is worth extending application in clinical treatment of head injury.
