摘要

In this study, bone char was obtained by pyrolysing bovine and bull bones. The physical and chemical properties of the bone char has been investigated in detail using a number of characterisation techniques. The 400-600°C temperature range with two varied residence time (1 and 2 h) was considered for bone char synthesis. The results indicate that the microstructure, pore diameter and the crystal size have greatly been influenced by the increasing temperature and residence time. The sample prepared at 400°C-2 h, a mesoporous carbon has been prepared which can be considered as a novel low cost adsorbent. The bone char has been used for removal of 17-β oestradiol from water.
