Surface flashover across insulator in vacuum: from global modeling to mitigation approaches

摘要

Vacuum flashover is a rapid surface breakdown across the dielectric-vacuum interface, which commonly occurs in pulsed-power devices, particle accelerators and other high-voltage vacuum insulation systems. The present work is dedicated to recent vacuum flashover modeling progress that improves the understanding of flashover phenomena, and helps to develop novel vacuum flashover mitigation approaches.
