Surface and nonlocal theories for piezoelectric semiconductor and its application on the shear-horizontal surface wave propagation in half space

摘要

This article attempts to study the nonlocal and surface effects on the wave dispersive relation in piezoelectric semiconductor. Considering linear phenomenological theory, nonlocal model for piezoelectric semiconductor is established. Meanwhile, the boundary condition involves surface effect is extended to piezoelectric semiconductor. According to the established theoretical model, shear-horizontal wave propagation in half-space is studied qualitatively. The computed results show that both nonlocal and surface effects reduce the real parts of phase speed when the order of wavenumber greater than 106. For different steady state carrier densities, similar form curves can be obtained for the consideration of nonlocal and surface effects. In addition, both effects cannot alter the imaginary parts of phase speed distinctly. The study in this work will contribute to explain the wave propagation in micro-scale devices.
