Study on temperature response of fiber Bragg grating at liquid helium temperature

摘要

The temperature response of fiber Bragg grating sensors has been monitored over a temperature range from 4.2 K to 298 K, especially the temperature sensing in liquid helium environment. It is found that the temperature sensitivity of FBG is dependent on temperature. A thermal response is measured to above 50 K. However, the changes are more complicated from 50 K to 77 K. The linear temperature response is found from 150 K to 298 K. Coating material with larger coefficient of thermal expansion can greatly improve the temperature sensing behavior of FBGs.
