Study on properties of epoxidized hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene cured at room temperature

摘要

A curing technology, in which epoxidized hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (EHTPB) can be cured efficiently by titanate coupling agents (TC-114) under room temperature, was researched in this paper. The FTIRs of the EHTPB, TC-114 and their cured products confirmed that the P-OH group of TC-114 enabled the epoxy group of EHTPB to be opened and reacted with the P-OH group under room temperature. The kinetic characteristics of this curing reaction were studied thoroughly by means of the differential scanning calorimeters (DSC) and the apparent activation energy of the reaction was obtained. The effects of the content of TC-114, the temperature and the epoxy value of EHTPB on the mechanical properties of the cured samples were investigated completely. The results indicate that the tensile strength and the elongation at break of the cured samples are excellent when the content of TC-114 is 24% and the temperature is 50°C.
