摘要

A method more accurate (in some cases) and simpler than previous methods, as will be explained later in this abstract, is presented for obtaining stress intensity factors (SIFs) for cracks emanating from holes and pin-loaded holes. The pin-loading on the hole boundary is assumed to be a concentrated, a uniform or a cosine distribution, symmetrical about the line of the crack. It is shown that SIFs are the highest for cosine-distribution pin-loading and the lowest for uniform-distribution pin-loading case when l/d less than 0. 3. But when l/d greater than 0. 3, SIFs for concentrated pin-loading will become the highest. The results are compared with those of other methods, and it is concluded that the present method is suitable for solving fatigue and fracture problems in engineering, especially for studying fatigue crack propagation from holes or from pin-loaded holes.
