abstract = "Long-term on/off status decisions of thermal units are quite for making a production plan of the thermal power plant. Thus, long-term transmission constrained unit commitment (TCUC) problem is urgent to be solved for power generation company. There are two difficulties must be solved in this problem. One is that short-term operation constraints must be considered, otherwise, the operation security cannot be guaranteed. The other one is that long time horizons of long-term TCUC bring great difficulties to solve this problem. Therefore, in this paper, a solution method for long-term TCUC problem with consideration of two wind power curtailment modes is proposed. The all-scenario-feasible formulations are improved and used into the formulation, and then, the operation security can be guaranteed. A solution method for long-term TCUC problem is proposed and the error estimation and performance evaluation method for the feasible solutions obtained are also given. Numerical testing is performed for three systems and the results suggest the method is effective.",
