title = "Snoring source identification using structure intensity method",
abstract = "This paper investigates how to control human snoring effectively by applying the concept of structural intensity (SI) to a 3D finite element model of a human head, which including the upper part of head, neck, the soft palate, hard palate, tongue, nasal cavity and the surrounding walls of the pharynx. Results show that for 20 Hz pressure load the vibrations of tissues are mainly in the areas of soft palate and tongue. While for a 40Hz response, the deformation concentrates on nasal and soft palate areas. This model may be further developed to study various snoring mechanisms for different groups of patients.",
