摘要
We show that specific signatures in the pair distribution function and x-ray and neutron-scattering structure factors in a variety of functional elastic materials, previously ascribed to local structural distortions, could instead be due to an underlying anisotropic, long-range elastic field. We illustrate this conclusion on simple textures, e.g., twins, tweed, using relaxational computer simulations, pair distribution function analysis, and structure factors in two dimensions.
