Self-scheduling of price-taker hydro plant based on aggregated unit model

摘要

Self-scheduling of price-taker hydro plant based on the aggregated unit model is formulated to determine the optimal bidding strategy in this paper. The goal of price-taker producers is to maximize their benefits without considering the power balance in the system. Different from the aggregated unit model proposed in literature, a two-dimensional piecewise linear approximation based model is established for the relationship among the maximum power generation level of the plant, total water discharge and average storage of the reservoir. By using this aggregated unit model, the self-scheduling of price-taker hydro plant can be greatly simplified since all the individual unit related constraints are removed. Numerical testing results demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.
