摘要
With increasing penetration of wind power to grid, great changes have taken place in composition of the power sources and serious challenges arise in maintaining security and stability in power system operation due to high uncertainties of wind power. In determining the day-ahead power generation scheduling, it is of great importance to obtain an accurate estimation on permissible wind power penetration in each time period of the next day. A scenario-based day-ahead economic dispatch formulation with single wind power plant is established and then, a method for evaluating permissible wind power penetration is established with consideration of load demands, spinning reserve requirements, unit parameters and transmission limits. By solving a mixed integer linear programming based formulation, evaluation results for each time period considering both robustness and economy are obtained as the basis for determining the optimal scheduling. Numerical testing is performed with an IEEE 24-bus system and the results show the validity of the method.
