摘要

AMPK is an important protein kinase, which controls/regulates the activity of energy metabolism in human body. Recent study has found that AMPK plays a critical role in the pathophysiological process of a variety of diseases. In recent years, the relationship between AMPK and pulmonary diseases has aroused extensive attention. Studies suggest that AMPK has a potential role in the treatment of pulmonary diseases such as lung cancer, asthma, acute lung injury, pulmonary hypertension and cystic fibrosis. This review summarizes the biological characteristics of AMPK and its potential therapeutic effect on such diseases.
