Retraction notice to “Mucoadhesive nanoparticles-based oral drug delivery systems enhance ameliorative effects of low molecular weight heparin on experimental colitis” (Carbohydrate Polymers (2020) 246, (S0144861720308341), (10.1016/j.carbpol.2020.116660))

This article has been retracted at the request of the Editor-in-Chief. Post-publication, an investigation conducted on behalf of the journal by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team, prompted by a PubPeer post, identified concerns around the authenticity of the following figures/image panels:Fig. 5. (e) Histological sections of the colon stained with hematoxylin and eosin (HE) (10 μ).The “Control” and the “TNBS + SA-TMC-NPs” contained two overlapping panels despite different treatment conditions. The authors were requested to provide comment on these concerns. It was felt that the explanations provided were unsatisfactory in resolving these concerns. The Editor has determined that the findings of the article cannot be relied upon, and has decided to retract the article.
