Retraction note: Circular RNA hsa_circ_0009172 suppresses gastric cancer by regulation of microRNA-485-3p-mediated NTRK3 (Cancer Gene Therapy, (2021), 28, 12, (1312-1324), 10.1038/s41417-020-00280-7)

After publication, concerns were raised regarding western blot similarity between the figures presented in this article and a number of unrelated articles that were submitted and published within a similar time frame [1, 2, 3–4]. Further checks by the Publisher have found that the study used the BGC-823 cell line, which has been reported to be contaminated with HeLa cervical cancer cells, making this cell line unsuitable as a model of gastric cancer. The Editor-in-Chief therefore no longer has confidence in the presented data and the conclusions of this article. None of the authors have responded to any correspondence from the Publisher about this retraction.
