N2 - By analyzing the difference between abnormal failure data and power system fault data in smart substation, an approach for failure sampling data identification based on waveform factor equation was proposed. The approach selects the corresponding waveform factor equations by establishing fault protection model, based on the relationship between the calculation results of the waveform factor equation and the threshold value, the approach can rapidly block corresponding protection, such as differential, distance or zero sequence protection, to escape the waveform distortion caused by abnormal electronic transformer. A typical 750kV transmission line model was established by RTDS for simulated fault data validation. The simulation results show that the approach can effectively identify normal and fault data, and effectiveness is verified with real fault data.
