Preliminary analysis of winter visibility variation in Xi'an, China

摘要

Relationships between winter visibility variation, air pollution and other atmospheric factors, which occurred in Xi'an, China, 2011, are shown in this paper. Similar periodicities (3-4 days) were found in visibility variation, relative humidity, PM2.5, SO2, NO2. Relative humidity played an important in visibility variation, which may be resulted from high hygroscopicity. From preliminary analysis, We thought a combined effects from PM2.5 and relative humidity are blamed for the extremely low visibility events.
