Power-bandwidth aware cooperative routing in multi-radio multi-channel wireless network

摘要

Cooperative communication can get diversity gain by taking advantage of wireless broadcasting property. But the co-channel interference restricts its performance in multi-hop wireless network. This paper adopts the multi-radio multi-channel technique to fully exploit benefits of cooperative communication. To minimize network power consumption as well as guaranteeing necessary bandwidth for flows, we study the problem of cooperative routing selection, channel and power adjustment in MRMC wireless network and propose a distributed solution for it. Firstly, according to the novel PBACRCA routing metric, a preliminary cooperative routing and channel assignment strategy is chosen for the flow. Then, a channel adjustment procedure is used for assigning channels to forwarding links. Finally, a power adjustment procedure will be called to promote forwarding links' transmission power when their transmission rate can't meet necessary bandwidth requirement. The simulation result shows that our solution can effectively save network power consumption.
