摘要

The ultrahigh cryogenic strength of nanocrystalline metals at liquid nitrogen temperature was analyzed. Investigations show that the flow stress magnitude at 2.5 GPa was unexpected for close-packed pure metals. It was found that the strong temperature dependence attributed to the small activation volume in strain rate tests. It was concluded that grain boundary dislocation nucleation was used as the thermally activated deformation mechanism in nanocrystalline grains.
