Numerical simulation of hemisphere-cylinder body crossing the gas-liquid interface

摘要

2D axisymmetric grid, volume of fluid method (VOF) and dynamics mesh technique (DMT) were used to simulate the gas-liquid multiphase and the cylinder body motion during the hemisphere-cylinder body vertically crossing the gas-liquid interface into water based on gravity effect. The velocity of the cylinder body was obtained by the experimental results. The numerical gas-liquid interface deformation such as cavity formation, closure was also obtained. Besides, the entry impact due to water entry was given. Computational results were in good agreement with the experimental data. The surface closure and down-jet had a significant effect on the entry impact.
