title = "Numerical simulation of a double-layer kang based on chimney effect",
abstract = "The traditional Chinese Kang system is a kind of ancient domestic heating system in China, which is widely used in the northern rural area of China since it has the advantage of heating the room by utilizing waste heat of cooking. However, the traditional Chinese Kang is facing the challenge of dropping out of use due to it heating the room by burning biomaterials or coal directly. In order to reform the existing Kang system, a novel Kang system which employs a capillary radiation mat as heating terminals was proposed in this research. Moreover, a dual heat source of solar energy and air source heat pump was used in the system to replace biomaterials and coal. In order to validate the feasibility of the system, a numerical simulation was performed in this research to obtain the temperature and flow distributed characteristics in the heating room and the results showed that this system could provide a comfortable indoor environment for residents.",
