Numerical investigation of laminar convective heat transfer in parallel channel with one moving boundary

摘要

A method that can be used to solve the fluid flow and heat transfer in parallel channel with one moving boundary is presented in detail. The primitive variables formulation was adopted and a nonstaggered body-fitted grid system was used with Cartesian velocity components used as the primary unknowns in the momentum equations. The SIMPLE algorithm is employed to handle the velocity-pressure coupling. The results show that the moving boundary has great effects on the wall convective heat transfer. Both the moving period and amplitude affect the heat transfer rate of the side walls to some extent. However, in a given time period, the moving amplitude greatly affects the heat transfer amount while the Strouhal number only has a little influence on it. It is also found that the heat fluxes of the two walls increase because of the behavior of the moving boundary.
