Novel Dual Winding Dual PM Flux Modulated Machines with Array Type Torque

摘要

This paper proposed a dual winding dual PM flux modulated machine (DWDPM) with array type torque. The main structure of DWDPM is that armature windings and permanent magnets are arranged on both the stator and rotor sides. Based on the unique slot/pole combination, the stator windings and the rotor windings can interact, respectively, with the stator PMs and the rotor PMs to output array type torque. Through Finite element analysis (FEA), the electromagnetic performance is exhibited and analyzed. Besides, the Halbach array is adopted to improve the exciting field. According to the FEA results, DWDPM has four torque components, which add up to the total torque. The proposed DWDPM has ultra-high torque density, which can reach 28.4 kN•m/m3.
