摘要

The net charge of a conducting microsphere which was embedded in a thermal plasma was discussed. A model was used to determine the net charge, considering the radius and density of ionized immobile cold ions and hot ions and electron temperature. It was observed that the spheres with radii smaller than the Debye length were fully ionized when embedded in a background plasma of 10% cluster density. It was found that in the electronic thermal equilibrium, spheres of one Debye length radius lost almost all free electrons resulting in highly charged spheres.
