摘要
In this study, a novel and efficient rubber modification, triethoxysilane (TES) functionalized solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (FSSBR) in-chain via hydrosilylation is applied and corresponding FSSBR/silica nanocomposites are investigated as green tire tread. The ethoxy groups of FSSBR significantly enhance filler–rubber interaction to improve silica dispersion. As a consequence, the silica nanoparticles in the FSSBR/silica nanocomposite are effectively isolated. Compared to the SSBR/silica nanocomposite, the FSSBR with 10% molar percentage of TES to 1,2-butadiene/silica nanocomposite exhibits a reduction in rolling resistance, heat build-up, and Akron abrasion by 30.6%, 38.0%, and 35.6%, respectively, and an improvement in wet-skid resistance by 88%. The application of in-chain FSSBR through hydrosilylation nanocomposites offers a promising route for the development of high-performance, eco-friendly tires.
