Liquid-solid reaction model and dissolution rate of limestone

摘要

Based on the mono-particle shrinking core model, a liquid solid reaction model for particle group is established when the reaction is controlled by diffusion through liquid film and chemical reaction. The limestone dissolution experiments have been conducted with different temperature, pH, and particle size distribution (PSD). The average total reaction constant km can be obtained compared with the experimental data. km at each reaction time can also be predicted by theory model. It is found that km decreases with the increase of reaction, and becomes a constant at the latter part of dissolution process. The numerical value of km of different samples and PSD are similar with the same reaction condition.
