T1 - Industry Development and Frontier Technology Roadmap of Thermal Power Generation

N2 - During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, thermal power generation industry is experiencing the transformation and upgrading. Technical routes of thermal power generation were proposed, aiming to provide reference for research and development strategy of thermal power generation industry. Industry overview and main indictors of thermal power generation were introduced. The frontier techniques of coal-fired, gas and waste heat power generation forms were concluded. Key technical indexes including efficiency and scale of frontier techniques were discussed, meanwhile tendency forecasts of key economic indicators such as levelized costs of electricity were given. The study identified the frontier techniques including 700℃ ultra-supercritical coal-fired power generation, supercritical CO2 Brayton cycle and integrated gasification combined cycle should be the key techniques that need breakthroughs and improvements emphatically in the long-term future. Four frontier technology roadmaps were came up for both centralized and distributed thermal power generation, comparisons and analysis of long-term future development prospects of these technology roadmaps were also conducted.
