abstract = "Howling of an audio amplifying system is annoying, which may occur when a closed-loop is formed for amplified signals. In this paper, we exploit the space diversity offered by the loudspeaker redundancy and develop a new howling canceling approach for high gain speakerphone systems. The amplified waves are weighted at the two loudspeakers to achieve self-cancellation at the microphone after the propagation. As a result, the echo waves can be completely eliminated at the microphone, which avoids any feedback that yields the howling. Results of simulation and hardware test show effectiveness of the method.",
