摘要
A diagnostic technique was presented to determine the neutral gas density channel created by a laser in a neutral gas. The creation and properties of the channel were studied to measure the spreading of an ion beamlet due to collisional scattering with the gas. Results were compared with one-dimensional magnetohydrodynamical calculations and showed a good matching.
