Far-Field Similarity-Based Pattern Reconstruction Method for Hemispherical Vehicular Antenna Tests

摘要

This letter presents an effective spherical far-field extrapolation and reconstruction method for antenna measurements. The proposed method first uses a geometric relationship to project the spherical near field as the planar near field. Then, the planar convolution-deconvolution method is performed to derive the planar far fields under the two tested frequencies. Since the two convoluted far fields have high similarity, the low-frequency far field can be used to interpolate the high-frequency data. Besides, the Gerchberg–Papoulis iterative method is applied to reduce the truncation error of the interpolated high-frequency far field. Finally, the proposed method can improve the data utilization efficiency of the multifrequency test, reduce the spherical sampling number by 66% and save the post-processing time cost by 10% with satisfactory reconstruction accuracy.
