摘要
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of special AT-rich sequence binding protein 1 (SATB1) in tumorigenesis and progression of breast carcinoma through observing the expression of SATB1 in different kinds of breast tissues. METHODS: The expresstion of SATB1 in all specimens were detected by SP immunohistochemistry. Statistical analysis of the results was performed using SPSS13.0 for windows statistical package. RESULTS: The positive rates of SATB1 were 6.2%(2/32), 6.4%(3/47), 20.4%(10/49), 45.0%(9/20), 52.9%(9/17), 76.6%(72/94) in the tissue of normal mammary, cystic hyperplasia mammary, precancerous tissues, non-infiltrative carcinoma, early invasive carcinoma and invasive carcinoma. The positive rates of the latter three were significantly higher than those of the previous three (P<0.05), in invasive non-special type (88.5%) it was significantly higher than that in invasive special type (54.5%) and early invasive type (52.9%), P<0.05. SATB1 protein expression in breast cancer with lymph node metastasis had a tendency to rise, and the difference had statistical sense, P<0.05. CONCLUSION: The over expression of SATB1 participated in the genesis and development of breast cancer indicates that SATB1 may be a valuable molecular marker of breast cancer.
