摘要
An experimental setup was developed to study the impact force evolutions of glycerin droplets colliding on a horizontal plate or the plate with a droplet on it. The results show that the peak impact force increases with the increasing of the droplet diameter and the impact velocity. The dimensionless impact force shows that all of the dimensionless impact force curves are close to each other. In addition, the dimensionless peak impact force decreases with the increase in the Re number. The peak impact force of a droplet impacting on a plate with a droplet on it is smaller than the peak impact force of a droplet impacting on a dry plate. In comparison with the case of a droplet impacting on a dry plate (case A), the peak force of a droplet impacting on a plate with a droplet (case B) is smaller, but the time duration of case B is longer. The peak force ratio of case B to case A decreases with the increase in the impact velocity at the low impact velocity, and then remains almost constant at the high impact velocity.
