Enhanced temperature stability of core losses tuned by Co2O3 and YIG ferrite co-doping for MnZn ferrite at 500 kHz

摘要

Power conversion devices rely on MnZn ferrite cores and the device's temperature stability is closely related to the core losses. In order to obtain MnZn ferrite with thermal stability under a wide temperature range, this work adopts the method of doping CY (Co2O3 and yttrium iron garnet ferrite powder) at the same time to modulate the electromagnetic characteristics of MnZn ferrite. The results show that doping CY can increase the resistivity of MnZn ferrite and regulate the temperature dependence of the core losses and maintain a mild variation in the core losses between 25 °C to 100 °C. When doped with 0.3 wt% CY, the core losses are lower than 590 kW/m3 at 500 kHz, 100 mT. The MnZn ferrite prepared in this work maintains low core losses over a wide temperature range at 500 kHz, which could be used in power conversion devices that require temperature stability.
