Effect of the Pulsed Axial Magnetic Field on a Preconditioned Z Pinch Implosion

摘要

The suppression of magneto-Rayleigh-Taylor instability (MRTI) in Z-pinch plasma is of great importance in terms of improving implosion symmetry and X radiation. In this study, the implosion process of preconditioned Z-pinch plasma with pulsed axial magnetic field introduced by helical return posts was experimental investigated and numerical simulated. The distribution and evolution of axial magnetic field, angular magnetic field, electron temperature, electron density and plasma velocity were determined by optical diagnostics including Faraday rotation, Zeeman splitting, interference diagnostics and Thomson scattering.
