abstract = "To balance the DC voltage of the cascade Static Synchronous Compensator (Static Synchronous Compensator, STATCOM), a direct fuzzy based modulation wave control is proposed. By establishing the mathematic model of the cascade STATCOM, the overall control is firstly given. After then, in order to further balance the voltage of the sub-module capacitor, a novel direct modulation wave control is designed based on fuzzy method utilizing the relationship of the modulated wave and capacitor voltage discharge of the sub-module. The feasibility and superiority of the proposed control strategy is verified by the simulation.",
