摘要

Thermally stimulated depolarization currents (TSDC) method was used to investigate the dielectric relaxation processes in alumina based ceramics. TSDC of 99% purity alumina ceramics (A99) and zirconia toughened alumina ceramics (ZTA) with varied polarization electric fields and polarization temperatures were studied. Measurement results show that the TSDC was induced by dipole relaxation. The dipole in A99 ceramics consists of a substitutional Mg2 + ion and a trapped hole on one of the nearest oxygen ions. And the dipole in ZTA ceramics is defect association of YZr' − VO•• − YZr'. The orientation of defect dipoles was due to the hopping of oxygen vacancies.
