N2 - A single stage AC/DC converter is proposed in [18], which has the advantages of simple control, no variation on dc bus voltage, and constant switching frequency and duty operation. In order to optimize the converter performance, in this paper, the power loss model for the proposed converter is derived in details, influences of switching frequency, resonant capacitor, magnetizing inductor, and the MOSFETs characteristics on system efficiency are investigated, and the optimum design for the proposed converter is presented. Finally, a 75 W experimental prototype was built to verify the theoretical analysis.
