摘要
In this paper, an approach to predict the remaining life of the corroded pipeline in service is proposed. In the approach, the maximal possible corroded wall-thickness value of the whole pipeline is estimated basing on the bivariate extreme distribution theory according to the corrosion inspection results of the pipeline, then the life when the maximal corroded wall-thickness value reaches the minimal one permitted is estimated using the power exponent formula of the local corrosion growth, and then, taking the life of anticorrosion coating into account, the remaining life for corrosion is predicted. The remaining life of the Guliulian-Gudao-Φ355 mm collecting pipeline is predicted by the approach, and the results are accorded with the real conditions.
