Computational modelling of biomechanics and biotribology for artificial shoulder joint

摘要

This chapter highlights the computational modelling methods for biomechanics and biotribology of artificial shoulder joint. After a brief of overview of total shoulder arthroplasty, designs, clinical problems, and the development of modelling approaches, we review the major modelling methods, including musculoskeletal multibody dynamics simulation, finite element analysis, and wear prediction of total shoulder arthroplasty. Furthermore, the major findings of several case studies in several key aspects of biomechanics and biotribology of total shoulder arthroplasty are discussed. Coupled or combined modelling analyses at the macroscopic and microscopic scales are the future trends for investigating the biomechanics and biotribology of artificial shoulder joint.
