摘要

Virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control has the ability to support frequency stability of power system thanks to its inertia support feature. However, for the sake of transient stability, voltage and current should be restrained within an acceptable range during a fault event. In this paper, a comparison of current-limiting strategies during fault ride-through (FRT) is presented. A voltage-controlled VSG with an inner current controller and finite-set model predictive control (FS-MPC) based VSG control were studied. Comparative tests of single-line-to-ground fault and three-phase-fault-to-ground were conducted in PSCAD/EMTDC. Simulation results show that FS-MPC based VSG possesses better FRT capability.
