Communication Restoration and Fault Location in Distribution System by UAVs

摘要

The orderly and rapid restoration of the distribution system after disasters relies on the accuracy and reliability of fault identification, while disasters often damage communication links resulting in failure to report fault information in a timely manner. This paper proposes a two-stage communication restoration and fault location strategy, and adopts a method to construct a wireless emergency communication link between the remote fault indicator (RFI) and the distribution operating center to realize the communication restoration and real-time transmission of current information by using the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) emergency communication in the first stage. Then, the fault location method according to the fault information of the RFIs is developed and takes into account the RFIs failures and malfunction in the second stage. The proposed method is verified the accuracy and validity by applying it to the IEEE 33-node distribution system.
