Ceramic-metal composite to recover the bulk property of ceramic powder

摘要

An interval percolation model was put forward to describe the ceramic-metal composite, in which the contact resistance of ceramic powder was reduced so that the bulk property of the ceramic could be recovered. Monte-Carlo simulation confirmed that the bulk property can be surely recovered in a cubic network if the fraction of conductive sites is in the range of 0.101 to 0.311. Experimental works also indicated that the bulk property of positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of BaTiO3 was recovered after the mixture of the BaTiO 3 ceramic powder and silver ink was baked. Moreover, it was shown that the percolation threshold decreased with the increase of the size of ceramic particles, and the PTC bulk property appeared more obviously at higher electrical field. This may provide a new way for the polymer/ceramic composite.
