Analysis of the moment capacity for FRP reinforced concrete beams

摘要

The moment-curvature relationship of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforced concrete beams is analyzed based on the traditional plane sections remain plane assumption (the Bernoulli's principle) in the steel reinforced concrete beam theory. The variations of the ultimate moment and curvature versus the FRP ratio of FRP reinforced concrete beams are also calculated. The results show that the analyzing and designing methods for steel reinforced concrete structures can not be used in the calculation of FRP reinforced concrete beams. Some simplified methods of analysis and design are proposed for calculating the moment resistance of FRP reinforced concrete beams. The calculated results of the new methods agree well with the experimental ones.
