abstract = "To improve maintenance of industrial product service systems, an outsourcing e-maintenance system (OEMS) based on active technical maintenance provision of the product manufacturer/vender or service supplier is presented, and then a framework for enabling the OEMS is proposed. The framework includes three layers, that is, development layer, function layer and application layer. The key information and communication technologies (ICTs) for developing the framework are introduced in detail. In addition, an OEMS prototype is developed for illustrating the proposed framework.",
