title = "An integrated paper-based microfluidic platform for autonomous, point-of-care ELISA",
abstract = "This paper describes the first portable paper-based microfluidic platform for autonomous enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Different from previous devices that require repeated reagent pipetting, our paper device integrates shape memory polymer (SMP) based micro-valves for automatically regulating flows and transferring on-chip-stored reagents in a programmed manner. A user simply needs to add sample and buffer solutions to the device, press a button to start the assay, and finally read the result from a screen after 60 min. We perform autonomous ELISAs of rabbit IgG with a limit of detection (LOD) of 27 pM, and demonstrate accurate testing of TNF-a protein in rate samples.",
