abstract = "With increasing crude oil price, refining of crude oil blends becomes common practice. This paper is aimed at developing a mathematic model for CDU and VDU in GAMS through information obtained from corresponding rigorous modelling in Aspen HYSYS. This model for CDU and VDU will be combined with empirical models for fluid catalytic cracker (FCC) and hydrotreater (HDT) to form an aggregate model for the refinery production area, which will subsequently be used for refinery production planning. A case study was used to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed modelling and solution approach.",
